Welcome to Coale. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Astute Web ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application, Coale (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide to Us

• Account Information: To use Coale, you must create an account. We collect information such as your email address, chosen display name, and password.
• User-Generated Content: As a long-distance connection app, you may upload photos, drawings (collaborative canvas), and send messages. We collect and store this content to facilitate the core features of the App.

B. Information We Collect Automatically

• Usage Information: We collect data regarding your interactions with the App, including timestamps of when you use features (e.g., Cinema PiP, Games, Pulse dashboard).
• Device Information: We may collect information about the device you use to access the App, such as the hardware model, operating system, and device identifiers (for Crashlytics and analytics).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the core features of Coale (e.g., syncing your real-time status with your partner).
• Process subscription payments (via RevenueCat).
• Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with the App to fix crashes and improve stability.
• Enforce our Terms of Service, including investigating reports of objectionable content and blocking users.

3. Data Storage and Security

• End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): All direct messages sent between you and your partner are strictly end-to-end encrypted on your devices. This means that neither Astute Web, nor any third party, has the mathematical ability to read, decrypt, or access your private conversations.
• Database: Your account data and user-generated content are securely stored on our backend servers (Supabase). We utilize strict Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure that your non-encrypted data is only accessible to you and your paired partner.
• Security Measures: While we use commercially reasonable safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the absolute security of any information you transmit to us.

4. User-Generated Content & Moderation

Coale allows users to share content with their paired partner. However, we have a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content or abusive users.

• Users have the ability to Report or Block their partner directly within the app.
• We reserve the right to review reported content and permanently ban accounts that violate our Terms of Service.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

• With your Partner: Information you provide and content you generate are shared with your paired partner.
• Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf. This includes Firebase Crashlytics for error reporting, PostHog for aggregated usage analytics, and RevenueCat for subscription handling.
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to a legal request.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You may access, update, or delete your account information at any time within the App's settings. Deleting your account will remove your personal data and unpair you from your partner.
